RABBI DARKSIDE is a Buffalo-born Brooklyn-based Hip Hop Artist/Educator. With a discography spanning a decade and tours across the U.S., Europe and South America, Rabbi D has built a global reputation and fan-base. He has performed at major venues and festivals around the world, and is responsible for bringing the Hip Hop Subway Series to Europe.
A renowned freestyler, DJ and beatboxer, he has also worked for 10+ years in the New York City Public Schools, most recently developing the groundbreaking rap-based test prep program "Fresh Prep," as featured in the New York Times, CBS Early Show and Huff Post.
He has appeared alongside Antibalas, Blue Man Group, Common, DMC, Fishbone, Kanye West, The Last Poets, Rahzel, DJ Rob Swift, The Roots, Slick Rick, Talib Kweli, and Weldon Irvine; been featured in publications such as URB Magazine, TV Guide and the Village Voice; and appeared on MTV’s “Made”, MTV2, BET, NBC and Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie.” He is one of the first H2ED Hip Hop Education Fellows at NYU’s Steinhardt School, and an ordained secular officiant who recently performed his first wedding.
